Chic, contemporary, stylish and sophisticated are just a few words that describe this Tiled Oak Orangery extension project. The grandeur of this property meant that our extension needed to provide the final WOW factor to the rear of the home and we certainly think it has. The oak offers a touch of warmth and character to the minimalist interiors and echoes the scattering of oak seen throughout the rest of the home.
Clean lines were key to work in harmony with the existing open plan modern interior styling, a combination of full height glazing and bi-folding doors alongside exposed rafters emulate this. When oak is combined with glazing it offers a light and airy subtlety to the home and brings an openness that is rarely achieved. The soft oak tones complement the existing grey, cream and taupe interiors and brings the whole home together with this Tiled Oak Orangery.
When the bi-folding doors are opened the perfectly landscaped garden and living room become as one.
Fluidity between the home and garden was essential so bi-folding doors were added on two elevations of the extension as well as to various other rooms in the home, to help mimic the openness and bring the outdoors in throughout the home. Adjacent to the extension nestled into the landscape of the garden you will find a spa room, again utilising the openness our bi-folding doors offer, a must in our opinion for any Oak Framed Building project.
Opting for a tiled roof meant that the shape and form of the existing home was mirrored, tying the old and new together as one. This project is a great example of how oak being a traditional construction material can offer a modern-day contemporary extension solution.
