To help expand this family home we were asked to design an al fresco dining area shelter to fit within a courtyard and extend off the kitchen to create a bright and inviting sitting room that opened out onto the garden, so the family could appreciate their beautiful garden and surrounding views all year round.
“We can now enjoy the garden all year round, no matter what the weather is doing!”
An Oak Garden Room design was decided upon for the sitting room, the vaulted ceiling creates an additional sense of space, depth and character with the added detail of the exposed oak rafters. The glazed gable paired with full height glazing and bi-folding doors envelopes the room with views of the vast garden landscape and encourages an abundance of natural light into the extension.
The dining shelter and Oak Garden Room were designed to incorporate matching tiles to ensure they were sympathetic to the existing. The combined subtlety of the oak, glazing, matching roof tiles and stone make you question where the old ends and the new begins…- -
