A stunning Oak Garden Room extension added to this Edwardian style home in Kent. The brief was to utilise the large patio area and design a room that could be used all year round that felt as though you were in the garden without the weather risks.
A design was created which incorporated a feature glazed gable, full height fixed glazing panels and bi-fold doors on three elevations, offering near panoramic views of the garden all year round as well as the opportunity to open the room right out into the garden during the summer months, making the walls all but disappear.
A cosy bolt hole during the winter months with log fire ablaze and frost on the ground. During the summer months a link from the outdoor entertaining space to an under cover al fresco sitting room.- -
The vaulted ceiling opens up the space adding grandeur and character with the detail of the exposed rafters.
The project has created an additional open plan sitting room, the existing also benefiting from the cascading natural light from the new bright and airy extension.
Matching the brickwork and roof tiles to the existing home combines the new and the old sympathetically.- -
